⚾Red Rookies: The New Bowman Feature With Mixed Feelings

Fanatics has announced a new "Red Rookie Redemption" for the 2025 Bowman set. But it's unlike what we've seen with the Topps Chrome MVP Redemptions where you wait until the end of the season, then trade those base/parallels in. It looks like you're going to have to wait and invest for this one.

🔴What's the Red Rookie Redemption?

Brass tacks: the rookie card logo will look like it usually does, except for a red "RC". According to Fanatics, this will give you the opportunity to earn more money on the card after the rookie completes career milestones, including rookie of the year.

Rookie of the year fetches a $100 redemption, but if you decide to keep the card, there's a chance for additional value:

3x MVP or Cy Young	$700
Hall of Fame Induction	$1,000

HALL OF FAME INDUCTION?! You're going to be holding onto that card for awhile!

If you look at Topps' Instagram page, there are some mixed reviews (as always).

One person, whose comment was pinned by Topps reads:

"Let's go!! This is going to be fun, and awesome way to give back to collectors."

Another collector said:

"So let me get this straight. I get a red RC. Keep it safe for 25+ years to see if he makes the HOF. Even if he does, I'll get 1k which would probably get me what a retail box of Topps 2055 Series 2?"

🧠Final Thoughts

Bowman 2025 will release on May 7.

Personally, it seems like a cool idea. Last years update series had an Instagram follow back redemption for few players (while Paul Skenes may be the 🐐, I don't need him to follow me back).

But hey, I get it. It's a fun way to keep the hobby interesting, and I'm all for brainstorming new ways to do it.
